It Is Time To Say Goodbye To The Sisters Grimm !

This month, Michael Buckley releases Book 9, the last book in the Sisters Grimm series, The Council of Mirrors, ending the story of the Sisters Grimm.

Sabrina and Daphne live in a world where humans and fairy-tales live side by side in rural New York, unbeknownst to the rest of the world.  The fairy-tale characters have been trapped in this town by an invisible barrier created by the original Brothers Grimm.  As long as the Grimm family remains in Ferryport Landing, no fairy-tales can escape.  Sabrina and Daphne also find themselves trapped in this town after their parents disappear.  They escape several terrible foster homes and are discovered by a grandmother they never knew they had.  Heartbroken and exhausted, they are immediately swept up in mysteries involving the Big Bad Wolf, Little Red Ridinghood, Prince Charming, and a very angry giant.

In the last installment of the Sisters Grimm series, Sabrina and Daphne, with the help of the Grimm family and friends, face off against the Master to decide the fate of Ferryport Landing and possibly the world.  After Mirror fails to cross the barrier trapping him in Ferryport Landing, he turns to Plan B :  killing all the Grimms in order to make the magical barrier collapse.  At the same time, Sabrina has been finding other mirrors to advise her on how to deal with their mortal enemy.  This will be the end for several beloved characters, but the conclusion will satisfy readers.

If you haven't read about Sabrina and Daphne yet or might want to start again and refresh your memory, here are the previous eight books.

New To The Children's Room This Week

Wahoo Crazy (yes, that is his name) lives in a zoo.  His father is an animal wrangler.  Wahoo has grown up around gators, snakes, parrots, rats, monkeys, snappers, and more in his backyard in the Florida Everglades.

When Wahoo's dad takes a job supplying the wild creatures that will be seen on a reality tv show "Expedition Survival", Wahoo figures he will have to do a bit of wrangling himself to keep his dad from hurting Derek Badger, the tv show's star.  But the job keeps getting more complicated as Derek and Wahoo's dad keep butting heads.

After only one day on location, Derek is bitten by a bat and goes missing in a storm.  Search parties head out and quickly get lost themselves.

"Chomp" by Carl Hiaasen is available in hardcover and cd audiobook (Grades 5-8).  If this book is checked out, then try one of his other three books -- "Scat", "Flush", and "Hoot" -- available in paperback, cd audiobook, and ebook form.

If you like these books, then you should also check out
